Ward Councillor for Park West
Heather was Leader of the Conservative Group and Leader of Darlington Borough Council until May 2022. She was elected as a Councillor in 1976, was Mayor of Darlington 1988/89 and was awarded the OBE in the Birthday Honours in 1989 for voluntary and community service. Heather is also a founder member of Darlington & District Hospice Movement, involved in fundraising for the Haematology Unit McMillan Nurses and former Chairman of the Friends of the Bowes Museum.
